We created promotions for a symposium called "Brewing the Perfect Prototype". The symposium is sponsored by Cimquest, IDSA and Core 77. The final pieces consist of a postcard, an email template and web banner ads. The event was in Florham Park, NJ. 16 professionals showed up and the event was a big success! I decided to make the event every two months. I just finished our new sign. This is a view from the first floor of our building.

 There is a furniture store/interior design company on the first floor called  Design Works at Washington Antiques. The sign hangs above the banister for the stairway. The small gallery is located on the second floor and dispays Giclee reproductions of all my fine art paintings. Here's my latest commissioned oil painting portrait. I was asked to paint three cats for a Christmas gift. I had a great time and interesting challenge painting this pet portrait. 

I wasn't able to do a photo shoot as the cats are shy and one had passed away. So, I used a combination of 3 photos for the cats. Most of the background is made up from several reference shots.

My parents recently gave me a family treasure of vintage cartoons. My mother's father, Paul Dye, was not a professional artist, but was very creative. He attended The Landon Course of Cartooning, a Cartooning school by C.N. Landon. The cartoons are from 1926 and all the courses are typed out. 1926 was just at the end of the Golden Age of Illustration.

We've been having a blast designing and illustrating Historic Chester's event promotions. This latest promotion is for their Fall Craft Show. All the events are run by the Historic Chester Business Association (HCBA), which is the main business organization in the Chester area.

It's triathlon season and that means more illustrations for us! We are working with Rising Sun Sport, a sports apparel company, to develop new triathlon and sports jerseys for purchase at the events. Every year I'm asked to give workshops at schools, libraries, arts festivals, business organizations. It's very exciting to be part of the events.
Teaching is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to do. Most of the events I do are either free or for a low low stipend, so I have to be careful of agreeing to do too many.
